#SavePalmyra

“It is lovely and fantastic and unbelievable, with all the theatrical implausibility of a dream. Courts and temples and ruined columns … I have never been able to decide what I really think of Palmyra. It has always for me the dreamlike quality of that first vision.” Agatha Christie

I’ve taken this picture during my first time in Syria, October 2009.
In my mind feels like yesterday and ages ago at the same time. I still remember tears gently growing and falling from eyes when I’ve seen a herd of white camels walking through the never ending desert on my way to Palmyra, while my companions were asleep, tired from a long road trip.
It was a magical path that I keep recalling as I’ve just dreamt of.

Who’s walking on that sand today is certainly crying whatever their beliefs are, with a heavy heart and a broken day behind.
