I’ve taken this picture during my first time in Syria, October 2009.
In my mind feels like yesterday and ages ago at the same time. I still remember tears gently growing and falling from eyes when I’ve seen a herd of white camels walking through the never ending desert on my way to Palmyra, while my companions were asleep, tired from a long road trip.
It was a magical path that I keep recalling as I’ve just dreamt of.
Who’s walking on that sand today is certainly crying whatever their beliefs are, with a heavy heart and a broken day behind.
